Divo Ostrov

Divo Ostrov is St. Petersburg's most modern and popular amusement park. The area of the park is about the same size as Liseberg. In overall it's well designed and definitely "Europe-class".

The park houses two very interesting rollercoasters built after Schwarzkopf's fall at the factories of the legendary company. Andalusia Railroad was the only one of its kind ever build, it used to be in Japan before coming to Divo Ostrov. And then Star Wars, a mixture of a dark ride and a rollercoaster, was built by Stein company, who operated the factory in 1996.

For 2006 they are opening the enclosed coaster Star Wars, and a new type of S&S Screaming Squirrel, which also features horizontal turns. The park also mentioned three other new rides at their website, called Booster, Saturn and Catapult, but it's unknown what exactly these are and if they'll ever be in operation.

How to get there:

The easiest way to reach the park is by the metro. Divo-Ostrov is located right opposite to the station "Krestovsky Ostrov", just follow the blue fencings around the park and you're soon on the entrance. There is also another park which can be reached from the same station (Kirov Park). Ulitsa Rjuhina is the street which is between Divo Ostrov and the metro station, walk right down it and you'll reach a pedestrian bridge which takes you to Yelagin Island. Kirov Park starts from there, and it's only few hundred meters away from Divo-Ostrov. Map of Krestovskiy Island
