Removed rides
This page contains some of the bigger rides which no longer can be found from Scandinavian parks. It is by no means complete, but we'll add more if we can find photos somewhere.
Bergbanan
Opened - 1923
(Rebuilt in 1951-1952)
Liseberg's first rollercoaster was designed by Valdemar Lebeck, the same man who is behind Bakken's, Tivoli's and Linnanmäki's wooden coasters. The track was 980 meters long. You can see a model of the coaster in the queue area of Balder.

Frisbee
Opened - 2000
Closed - 2004
Frisbee was rented from a German funfair. It was first thought to leave Särkänniemi after the third operating season, in 2002. The loan contract was however renewed for two more years, so Frisbee was finally removed after 2004. The spot of Frisbee was previously occupied by another rented ride, which was an ARM Superbowl. The Superbowl operated from 1997 to 1999.
Sky Flyer
Opened - 1986
Closed - 2004
Sky Flyer was transported out of the park just before the season opening in 2005. Some staff had said that it was in too bad condition and wouldn't be returned to the park later during the season.
The ride was one of the signature attractions of Särkänniemi for almost 20 years.
HangOver
Opened - 1997
Closed - 2002
HangOver was the first Inverted coaster in Scandinavia when it opened in 1997. It was removed when Balder was constructed and sold to Greece, where it was held in storage until 2005, when the Danish Sommerland Syd put the ride back in action again. The ride was featured at the Italian ride handler Ital's website, with a price of 1,75 million euros.
Sky Flyer
Opened - 1986
Closed - 2004
Särkänniemi's Hurveli was an ARM-made Walzer that was one of the park's most popular rides. In mid-season 2001 it broke down, so it was returned to the Swedish Skogh's funfair who owned the ride. After that it was repainted and went to Axels lineup.
Katapultti
Opened - 1992
Closed - 1993
Katapultti was a Schwarzkopf-made "Katapult"-shuttle coaster. The track consisted of just a station, loop and two banked curves. It proved to be technically unreliable, so the ride operated only for two seasons. It was the first out of the 5 Katapults built. Today these rides are very rarely found, but as of 2005 there is one model operated by Leon Snep travelling in Dutch funfairs.
For a complete list of Linnanmäki's old rides, see huvipuisto.net.
Slangen
Opened - 1989
Closed - 2003
Slangen was a medium-sized steel coaster made by Zierer. The reason it was removed was to make room for Dæmonen.
Stand-Up
Opened - 1988
The Intamin-made coaster operated only for a few seasons. 1995 it was reopened in La Ronde, Canada.

Super Roller Coaster
Opened - 1991
Closed - 1995
This coaster was located in a Finnish indoor amusement park called Planet Funfun. It was a 410 meter long family coaster made by Vekoma. The coaster travelled among the roofs of the hall. Planet Funfun operated only from 1991 to 1995, as it was never quite succesful.
Super Roller Coaster was sold to Germany, where it now operates in Fort Fun with the name Devil's Mine.
