History:

Gröna Lund was founded 1883 by Jacob Schultheis. For many years Gröna Lund had competition from their neighbours at Nöjesfältet. Lustiga Huset was built 1927 and is still in the park.1931 was the opening year for Gröna Lunds first coaster, the wooden coaster Berg och Dalbanan. It operated for 35 seasons. Radar was bought in to replace Berg och Dalbanan. Radar operated for 15 years. When a amusement arcade had to close due to Swedish laws, Vikingen was built at the place for 1979.1982 a new Schwarzkopf coaster was hired. The Jet Star II. It operated for one and a half season and was taken down at the summer of 1983 due to some incidents. The water ride Forsbanan was replacing Jet Star II. During 1985 Gröna Lund finally decided to put in the order to Schwarzkopf for the Jetline coaster. During 1985 there was some fires at Gröna Lund. Lustiga Huset was one of the rides that had a fire. 1987 it reopened. 1988 Jetline opened. 1991 the Haunted House "Spökhuset" opened. For the 1996 Stockholm Water Festival the Thriller was hired for a month. 1998 Gröna Lund introduced Europes highest Free Fall ("Fritt Fall") ride. At 2003 the unique coaster Vilda Musen was opened. For 2004 Gröna Lund opened worlds highest Free Fall Tilt ("Fritt Fall Tilt") ride.
