Space Express is a very intresting enclosed rollercoaster. It was built inside a round water tower, that has been at Linnanmäki's area even before the actual amusement park was built. The water tower has a dry, about 7 meters tall bottom part where they built this coaster. The bottom part used to be the home to an Indiana Jones-themed dark ride before the year 2000.

The whole attraction, including the queuing areas, has a well done space shuttle theme. The temperature inside the water tower is always quite cold, so that even further improves the cool space theme.

Zierer consulted Werner Stengel to design Space Express. The design job must've been hard as there are many concrete pilars inside the water tower's bottom part, which were of course built there to support the giant water mass above the coaster. In 2003 though the main part of the tower was dried up, and Linnanmäki is now thinking of building a hotel there. The overall track lenght of Space Express is pretty small, but the track contains some nice turns.
