Gerstlauer

Gerstlauer is a rising German company on the rollercoaster industry - with more and more coasters by them being opened each year. Hubert Gerstlauer was a former worker at Schwarzkopf, who decided to start his own business in 1981. Gerstlauer supplied electronics for coasters like Lisebergbanan and Jetline and built their own carousel rides. And just during the past two years they made a very good move by starting their own coaster lineup. They already have manufactured 13 rollercoasters in total and designed trains for wooden coasters like Falken.

Company History, from official website

The company Gerstlauer was founded in 1981 by Mr. Hubert Gerstlauer, a former senior manager of the famous Anton Schwarzkopf company. In that capacity, Mr. Gerstlauer was responsible for designing the control systems, as well as overseeing the installation and startup, of all Anton Schwarzkopf rides during his 14 year tenure with the company. After leaving Schwarzkopf, Gerstlauer designed and installed electrical and pneumatic systems for several German ride manufactures, including Zierer, Schwarzkopf, and BHS.

In 1992, Mr. Gerstlauer purchased the former production facilities of Anton Schwarzkopf, also gaining some of the most experienced personnel in the industry. Gerstlauer rides are "moving the world!" The Gerstlauer team consists of 35 dedicated employees utilizing the most advanced CAD systems and manufacturing processes.

Bobsled Coaster

Bobsled coaster is a common name for all regular Gerstlauer coasters, including Vilda Musen. They have a mixture of tight hairpin turns and twisting curves, desinged by the coaster guru, Werner Stengel.

The Bobsled Coaster shines through it´s extremely balanced design and arrangement of the figures performed, which assures you that young and old riders are very happy smiling when leaving the ride.

Eurofighter

The Eurofighter contains a first drop never seen before. Vildsvinet was the first ever installation and at the same time had the world's first beyond vertical drop on a stationary coaster. (The mobile coaster Cool&Fresh opened the same year, so I can't be sure which one opened first) Bobbejaanland in Belgium got a longer version of the Eurofighter in 2004, called Typhoon.

The speciality of the "Tsunami Coaster" is the vertical lift and the first drop of circa 97° which is an unique wolrd innovation. After the first drop the cars can travel through different thrill elements according to customer specification, e.g. an overbanked curve, a looping, a heartline-roll or a zero g-hump. The cars - each carrying 8 persons - are equipped with comfortable shoulder restraints, which ensure a proper security for the passenger and a safe right. The magnetic reduce-brake at the end of the ride guarantees a soft slow-down of the cars before entering the station. The "Tsunami Coaster" is available as a stationary roller coaster or as a transportable version with a base frame.
